Back on Line

Hello All,

I’ve been off line for too long.  Some of this is due to getting a new computer.  It may be true that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but it may be possible to teach an old dog a new trick or two.

Soon I’ll get back to doing some searching on Ancestry.  Now all I need is this really weird weather that we have been having, and all the extra work it causes to keep our CSA and other customers in winter greens and root crops.  The weather has been so weird and unpredictable that we lost most of our apple crop,  and some of our Asian Pear crop.  Luckily were able to make a lot of fruit sauces, and dried fruits.  Our CSA members really like the dry fruit; they say it tastes like candies.  I also make ciders from the less than beautiful fruit.

But we won’t complain too loudly about the weird weather we are being stuck with in Global Climate Change.  This screwy weather gave us our best harvest ever of blueberries, brambles, and ribes.

I will try to write on this electronic journal more often!   Thom Dunn Marti
